Reading time
We read two books tonight. Ahren was able to read almost without assistance "The Little Red Hen." I helped him read some longer words in "Olivia."

Homeschool exercise
March 08, 2013
Ahren is getting better at solving bigger numbers, as you can see, he still commits mistakes, but I don't mind that too much..I don't expect perfect scores especially since he's just starting to feel the groove and getting confident in answering bigger numbers.
He likewise did some spelling exercise. It's still a work in progress.

Homeschool Saturdate
We were able to catch up on our activity backlog despite our four-day hiatus. Overall, I'm pleased with Ahren's progress in reading and comprehension. He's also good at answering analogies.
Ahren still has to build up his confidence in writing (but he has a nice penmanship) and spelling, so I devised a dictation activity for him. Hope it works out well.

Making things work
Today, Ahren started his day by attending a classmate's birthday party.
After a quick rest, Ahren played with his toy cars. I used this moment to bring out our circuits (I like this set because it incorporates STEM).
He also figured out how to make a simple knot and used this newly acquired skill to tie a rope around his bucket, make some sort of a pulley to pull the bucket up and down the other side of our fence.
